On the last weekend in September, a group of Hula members and staff came together to help strengthen Vermont's community. OutrightVT’s legendary Fire Truck Pull rolled into downtown Burlington, an event that raises money for LBGTQ+ youth safety throughout the state. With teamwork, laughter, (some nerves) and plenty of cheering, the Hula crew pulled the truck the full distance in just over 14 seconds.
But here’s the real win: together with 22 other spirited teams, including teams from Mamava and Encore Renewable Energy (both proudly Hula-based), we helped OutrightVT smash fundraising records—raising over $250,000 to support LGBTQ+ youth safety and wellbeing. That’s the kind of heavy lifting that really matters.
Being part of this tradition was inspiring. From the shared energy of Church St. to the sight of so many people united behind one powerful cause, it reminded us of why we show up for each other.
