What we heard

Today, I’m thrilled to share what you told us through our Community Insights Survey — and how your voices are shaping what’s next. Thank you to everyone who contributed thoughts.

You care deeply for this community. 92% of respondents told us they feel welcomed by fellow community members, and the unmistakable majority celebrated the diversity, and energy of campus life while encouraging us to keep deepening inclusion, connection, and networking.

Your environment matters. Requests for more quiet zones, ergonomic furniture, and better wayfinding came through loud and clear — along with helpful notes about signage and laptop power access.

You want more connection and growth. Members asked for more peer learning, mentoring, and curated events that focus on startups and wellbeing themes.

You value our capital ecosystem. Roughly one-third of respondents expressed interest in investing in local companies, and many want clearer ways to engage with the investors, accelerators, and creators already on campus.

You appreciate campus upgrades and want more. Fitness, parking, and mail improvements are hitting the mark, but there’s room to expand and diversify food options and make onsite catering easier.

Where we’ll lean in next

Based on everything you shared, here’s how we’re channeling your feedback into focused action across our three pillars:

Campus

  • Move in newly built coworking furniture in Building 44 by year-end!
  • Promote simplified event booking with preset layouts for members and clients (click for a sneak peak).
  • Partner with Brio, Preppi, and The Better Box to incorporate your input into their offerings – not surprisingly, they’re already on it.

Community

  • Launch the Hula Mentoring Program early 2026. Learn more here about becoming a mentor or seeking a mentor.
  • Strengthen member-to-member connection by leveraging Nexudus: complete and publish your profile by Dec-15 and you will be entered into the GoTrax eBike giveaway!
  • Continue the refreshed Welcome Program for new members to foster early connection.
  • Continue to partner with community based organizations (Mark your calendars for Mar-26 on the Great Lawn for Spectrum Youth &
  • Family Services’ annual Sleep Out in solidarity with youth facing homelessness).
  • Shift to shorter, more frequent pulse surveys for timely feedback.

Capital

  • Broaden the definition of “Capital at Hula” to include all investors, funds, and family offices on campus—signaling that access to capital here is abundant, accessible, and growing—and supporting networking opportunities within the capital ecosystem.
  • Develop opportunities to bring to campus education for current and aspiring investors.
  • Leveraging Hula’s Venture Roundtable to seed education, programming, and policy opportunities for Vermont’s venture ecosystem alongside valuable knowledge exchange.

The survey reaffirmed that our true value lies in connection, collaboration, and shared ambition. As we scale, your insight ensures we grow better.

  • Keep sharing feedback — online or in person, anytime!
  • Show up: for events, mentoring, mixers, and community programs.
  • Help welcome new members — invite, introduce, refer (and earn referral credits!).
