David Morrissey, Chief Financial & Operations Officer, joined the team in December, 2023 after spending most of his career to date focused on community building in the non-profit sector. He enjoys working on financial and operational systems that resource mission-critical work. Hula is a great opportunity to build on his experience with its commitment to using economic development to create community connections in Burlington and beyond.

Prior to joining Hula, David spent 15+ years at the Vermont Community Foundation as a member of the Finance and Operations team in evolving roles but always in support of the programmatic efforts and community investments being made throughout Vermont. The Foundation’s charitable capital grew more than 3x during his time there and those valuable resources will contribute to the health and vitality of Vermont communities for a long time.

He recently spent two years with the Vermont Land Trust’s Finance and Operations team supporting statewide conservation and stewardship efforts. His work focused on financing the transition of land to the next generation of farmers, conserving ecologically critical forestland, and helping donors and communities preserve the places where they live and play.

David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Assumption College.
